Would you like to be able to boost your company’s global sales free of charge? We’re the only online export platform of organic products for supermarkets. Our principal market is the MENA region (the Middle East and North Africa) but we also have a presence in Eastern Europe and Latin America. In this guide we’re going to tell you about the boom that this sector is currently experiencing. We’ll outline some of the benefits and services we offer producers who want their exports to go far, and we’ll also tell you what not to do if you want to avoid wasting time and money. We’ll let you know which requirements you must meet in order to join our platform, give you some tips on how to achieve success in your international movements, and finally we’ll tell you why you should pick us to be your partner in this vital phase of expansion. Let’s get started!

The organic sector boom

Agricultural land dedicated to organic production and green sales continued to show strong growth worldwide in 2020, according to data collected in 190 countries and published by FiBL – The Research Institute of Organic Agriculture – and the IFOAM.

Such is the growth of the global organic food market that it exceeded 120,000 million euros in 2020, a total increase of 14,000 million. This means the industry has grown by 533% during the last 20 years.

“The organic market is no longer a niche one, it’s part of the solution, and the EU commission has recognized this in its European Green Pact,” says IFOAM Organics Europe Deputy Director and Policy Director, Eric Gall.

In 2020, 3.4 million organic producers were reported, an increase of 7.6% compared to 2019. India remained the country with the most organic producers (1.6 million).

In 2019, of the 92,000 million that made up the organic sector, the Spanish market represented 2.07%, ranking tenth in the world in terms of production according to Ecovalia.

According to an article published in Eldiario.es in 2019, Spain “occupies tenth place worldwide, and seventh in Europe” in terms of consumption. This explains why the increase in organic production has been accompanied by a 49% increase in exports. Currently, 80% of Spain’s organic production is exported to northern European countries.

Advice for producers who want to export

Lots of companies hold back from moving into certain markets. And it’s not surprising, because entering markets that have developed in a very different way to the one your brand is used to can be tricky.

Most common mistakes in international exports

Legal contingencies, errors in packaging translation, blockages at customs, poorly executed documentation protocols, lack of knowledge of specific product batches according to destination, high sales prices that prevent products from thriving in new markets, incomplete registrations, a lack of consumer research for each country, transportation and storage problems, hours and hours spent searching for potential customers, poorly executed external translations, inadequate after-sales follow-up… We could spend all day listing the potential problems that lead thousands of companies to throw in the towel when it comes to exporting. But the truth is, most of these problems would never have arisen if the companies had benefited in advance from the knowledge needed to avoid them.

How to avoid export problems

We want organic produce to be a right not a luxury! We work with environmentally aware supermarkets that recognize the importance of organic products, and we want you to have access to them.

The organic market is currently booming. This is the perfect opportunity to grow your company, while focusing on doing what you do best and what you love most. Simply put, you produce, we’ll export!

With our platform you can increase your sales worldwide, completely free of charge, avoiding all the issues mentioned above by putting your brand in expert hands.

What are the benefits of working with Organic Boosting?

  • It is a free complement to your sales department, helping you increase your sales with no investment required. We put our price on top of yours; it doesn’t cost you a thing.
  • The aim is to shorten the supply chain so that the product comes straight from the producer and is cheaper for supermarkets.
  • As producers, you’ll be selling to a Spanish company. You don’t need to worry about bureaucracy or payments from abroad.
  • We can provide any service related to exportation: sales, international transport, storage, advice, translations, design, registration, documentation, promotions, and so on.
  • We save you the time and money involved in attending international fairs to find new clients. We’ll bring them to you.
  • Our export platform provides supermarkets with all the organic categories and export services they could require. We provide supermarkets with a complete, all-in-one export service.
  • We have a temperature-controlled warehouse in the port of Valencia, which allows us to export any type of product.

How does it work?

  • Orders are managed directly by supermarkets on our platform.
  • We charge a small margin, giving supermarkets the opportunity to purchase at source.
  • The minimum order is a full mixed pallet from a single producer, with a minimum layer of product.
  • We do not demand exclusivity by country or geographical area, only exclusivity for customers obtained by us on your behalf and accepted by you.
  • As producers you sell to a Spanish company, with VAT included in the prices. This eliminates the need to manage export paperwork and proceedings with all the potential headaches and errors this could entail.
  • Supermarkets have access to your products on the platform, and when they show genuine interest, we give them access to the price, and later to the order area.
  • If you, as a producer, have any restrictions in any country, we will activate them for you, so that supermarkets in that country will not be able to see your brand.

Requirements for working as a producer with Organic Boosting

  • Have a brand or product that is already sold in supermarkets or via large online platforms.
  • The producer must be willing to adapt the packaging of the product(s) to other countries and invest the financial resources necessary to carry out this adaptation.

What do we need from you?

  • You should have good export prices (distributor price but reduced), taking into account that you’re selling to a Spanish company with VAT. The platform will take care of all the export procedures and assume all the risks involved in international sales.
  • A selection of your company’s most-sold products.
  • A catalogue of photos and prices for a minimum of 1 mixed pallet (prices without VAT).
  • Samples. If the product is expensive, like cheese, the sample could take the form of packaged wedges, for example.
  • If we’re interested in the products, we’ll send you an email inviting you to register on the platform.
  • Delivery time in Valencia is a maximum of three weeks.
  • The first order will be paid in advance by us: 50% before preparation and 50% before shipment. For the following orders, payment conditions will be on credit.
  • We sign a simple distribution contract with marketing conditions. We’ll send you a draft to adapt it to your company.

We hope that this guide for producers who want to make a success of their international exports has been helpful.
